1969 年西直门折除时,显露出来的干厅闸
During the dismantling of the Xizhimen Gate, a heavy sluice gate was uncovered. The gate dates to the Yuan Dynasty when it was called Heyimen. Under the Yongle Emperor of the Ming Dynasty the entrance was renamed Xizhimen. The arrow tower was added during the reign of Emperor Zhengtong of the Ming Dynasty. It was also called the Water Gate (Shuimen) because all of the water used within the Inner City was brought from the Yuquan Mountain streams through this gate. |
