1898 Qianmen 前门

Looking south from the Inner City toward Qianmen Dajie 前门大街 (Qiánmén Dàjiē) in 1898. In the foreground you can see the bridge that leads from the Archery Tower to the wooden gate. The bridge was demolished in 1934.

Below, is another similar view toward the south showing the bridge in better detail. Destroyed in 1934 to improve the roads, it was rebuilt in 2005 and opened with the 'new' Qianmen area in 2008.
