Several modern banks were built in the Shijia Hutong 施家胡同 (Shījiā hútòng) near Qianmen. The Yu Xingzhong Bank 裕兴中银行 (Yùxīngzhōng Yínháng) and the Jicheng Bank 集成银行 (Jíchéng Yínháng) both used Western designs for their banks.
Above, Doric columns and a plain façade give this bank a sense of strength. It is classic "bank" architecture. Below, the design draws from the Art Deco design trend of the 1920s through the 1940s. |
