| This is a residential compound occupied by many families. It's called a 大杂院 (dàzáyuàn). Above the door is an agreement on civic virtues 文明公约 (wénmíng gōngyuē) which tells people inside the proper way to behave. The 文明公约 is translated on the next page. |
