| The wood beams and whole bricks are saved to be recycled. I don't know if they will integrate them into the NEW old hutong they are building. Probably they will resort to poured concrete, as they have in other "renovations". It adds tremendously to the cost to try to make uneven pieces fit. (See the section on Wanping to see new traditional building methods.) |
