Qianmen Shopping Street

Qianmen district was built during the Ming Dynasty to serve the needs of both the palace and those who served in the government and military. The market was a rollicking, roisterous place with people from all over China and beyond coming to buy and sell. The intersection shown above is to the right in the picture below.
