| Qian Xiang Yi Silk store 谦祥益 (Qiānxiángyì) was founded in 1830. I discovered it by accident, which is always fun. I had a blouse made and then a bunch of things over the years. The prices were reasonable, but the best thing about the store was the tailor. He was brilliant. I sew. I would make a sketch and we would discuss the item, primarily through hand signals, and out would come a beautifully tailored jacket or shirt. Plus, a lot of laughter. I took groups that I led to the store and they had the same outcome. |
