Qianmen Dajie 前门大街

This is a side street off of Qianmen Dajie leading east. It is a nice time for you to practice your Chinese. See how many of the signs you can recognize:

正宗 (zhèngzōng) - "authentic" (shuàn) -a kind of cooking, 羊腰子 (yángyāozǐ) - "kidney", 羊肉 (yángròu) - "lamb", 百叶 (bǎiyè) - "tripe - stomach of sheep".

便宜坊烤鸭 (Biànyi fāng kǎoyā) Bianyifang roast duck (this is a one of a chain of restaurants)

北京市水煮鱼 (Běijīngshì shuǐzhǔyú) a very hot fish dish, famous in Beijing.

老北京涮肉 (Lǎo Běijīng shuànròu) - Old Beijing Sliced Meat - thin slices of meat are scalded to bring out the flavor.

Here's an important one:

星级设施 普通价位 (xīngjí shèshī pǔtōng jiàwèi) Star-standard facilities at a common price!

代办火车票 特价飞机票 (dàibàn huǒchēpiào tèjià fēijīpiào) train ticket agent, air tickets on sale.
