| I went back a few days later when the sky was a rare blue for Beijing. The first stage of the rennovation and rebuilding of this area was completed in 2008. The road will have been completely changed by the time you see it, if you visit. There are still extensive changes planned.
Below, in this photo from the late 1930s or early 1940s, you can see the walls of the Inner City that remained until the 1950s. |
