Above, the Yichenghou Department Store 宜诚厚 (Yíchénghòu) in 2008.
Below, the Yichenghou Department Store in 2004. There was no way that I could take a picture from that distance in 2008. It took 20 minutes of waiting for a clear view of the front in 2004, in 2008 the crowds were too dense on opening day. One of the major changes is the removal of power lines that once marred the front of the building. All service lines were buried along both Dashila and Qianmen Dajie.
At the very bottom, is another view from 2008. This store was very crowded. People were actually buying things - that wasn't true in most of the stores on this day. People had come as tourists, not as shoppers.
