Many different kinds of meat will be served during Spring Festival. Pork is a must, but beef, lamb, and even chicken all make an appearance. Chicken isn't considered very special since it is eaten so often. In the old days, many families only had meat once a year - at Spring Festival. Today, most people can afford it at least once a week and in the cities, many people eat meat at every meal. This is the wealth the new China has brought the ordinary man.
