Beijing University of Technology sign on front of badminton gymnasium

Badminton 羽毛球 Olympics 2008

Beijing University of Technology's Gymnasium 北京工业大学体育馆 (Běijīng Gōngyè Dàxué Tǐyùguǎn) is shaped like an upside down saucer. They included symbols from the sport within the architecture. Under the eaves, the supports have the shape of the badminton birdie. Upstairs, on the outside walkway, there are plenty of benches and areas for spectators to congregate.

The external walkway also allows visitors to find the correct door for their section before entering the building. There is another internal corridor, but that could quickly become congested.
