Five Fuwa dancing

Fuwa 福娃

The Fuwa 福娃 (Fúwá) were the mascots of the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Fu means happiness, good fortune, blessing; and Wa means baby, doll, pretty girl. Each of the five had different symbolic meaning and each had its own name. There are many good detailed descriptions of the Fuwa on the Internet.
