Beijing Olympics 北京奥运会

The theme for the Beijing Olympics 北京奥运会 (Běijīng àoyùnhuì) was One World, One dream. Young volunteers, such as the woman shown above, worked hard to present the best of China to the rest of the world. The people of China are interested in learning about the rest of the world and in showing that China is ready to welcome the rest of the world to learn about them.

The woman above was a greeter in one of the pavilions. She is dressed in traditional clothes now only seen in the Beijing Opera. It takes over an hour to prepare make-up and clothes.
