Vimalakirti Nirdesa sutra

This sutra (or teaching) is central to Mahayana Buddhism. Vimalakirti (Renowned for Purity) was a contemporary of Gautama Buddha
and a lay bodhisattva. The translation of sutras was central to the
spread of Buddhism during the Han Dynasty and then later during the Tang resurgence. Notice how heavy the strokes are, yet
Wang Xiangguo is able to maintain a graceful and elegant feeling. In Regular script strokes should have identity with
clear space defining their relationship. The character should be centered on an imaginary square to achieve balance. The
Virmalakirti Nirdesa sutra was translated by Wu Ze. The scroll dates from 393 AD, the fifth year of Linjia's reign during the
Later Liang Dynasty.
