Farewell at Jintai

It is traditional Chinese courtesy to accompany travelers on part of their journey as a form of farewell.
Dai Jin came from Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. He originated a style called the Zhejiang school.

He is noted for his landscapes and figures, both painted with quick heavy strokes.
The shadow across the top is caused by a plastic holder.
The painting dates from the Ming period.
