Much of the area along the Wei River is still devoted to agriculture. The rich soil produces corn, wheat, soy beans, and other staples. The fields are dotted with storage sheds, often used by a number of families, to collect harvests on their way to market. Below, there is a traditional walled farmyard. Many farmers live in villages or towns and commute to their fields, but some maintain their traditional connection to the fields. |
