Painting with the Fingers

You don't see painters in markets and on the streets as often as you used to, but it is fascinating to watch when you have the chance. This artist is using his hand and fingernails as the brush. It is a technique used by Gao Qipei 高其佩 (1660-1734) to gain full mastery over the stroke. He felt that brushes put too much distance between the artist and his work.
