Terracotta Warriors 秦俑

Terracotta Warriors
兵马俑

Some of the troops wore what might be knitted caps over their hair, there are pictures later in the series where this is much clearer. Notice that the soldier on the left has his hair tied with a scarf. It could be a cultural preference or a sign of rank. The Qin army was made up of soldiers drawn from all over the new empire. Whether you were Chu, or Zhao, Qi, or Qin you were subject to the same laws and service in the military.
