| The terracotta factory or factories in Xi'an do a brisk business supplying the tourist industry with replicas of the terracotta warriors and horses. The best of the replicas attempt to use the original techniques, except that instead of producing unique statues they produce millions of replicas of a standard set. They also come in all sizes and states of antiquity. They are produced to look like the colorful originals, aged to fade the paint, and in plain terracotta with various "patinas" of age. |
