| The waters of the pond are fairly still to reflect the sculpted stones placed here by Pan Yunduan. He and his father could gaze at them from the window of the study.
The central stone is called 玉玲珑 Yù Líng Lóng, Exquisite Jade. It's a great name in Chinese, all three characters mean jade. Yù is the common name for jade, Líng means tinkling jade, and Lóng is jade asking for rain. When Líng and Lóng are combined to form a word, it means exquisite. |
