058_Babaoshan Revolutionary Cemetery

Babaoshan 八宝山

Coming back to Beijing, the subway was very crowded. It would be that way all day. Qingming is widely observed. Babaoshan is only one small cemetery devoted to the people of the revolution. There are many other cemeteries and memorials both within the city and in the countryside.

Some friends went to the countryside to visit the husband's father's tomb. It is in the countryside in a small corner of a farm. They were joined by the sister's family. They cleaned the grave, planted flowers, left fruit and wine, and burned incense and paper money. Mostly they told stories about their early lives and the grandchildren were introduced to the past. It is moments like these that make a family.
