| Shepherd's Field Children's Village is an orphanage for children who have some physical or mental challenge. The orphanage is home to more than 100 children, ranging from infants to teenagers. Some of the children have heart or breathing conditions, some have congenital defects, and some are mentally challenged. For the most part, they require just a little more attention and care than most orphanages can give. Shepherd's Field is run by an American organization with volunteers from many different countries - thus, the flag.
The Shepherd's Field Children's Village is located east of Beijing in Wuqing, Tianjin. It is a non-profit orphanage supported by the efforts of volunteers and contributions from individuals and corporations.
