| One of the features of the miaohui is traditional forms of entertainment. There wasn't as much as there has been in the past. When I commented upon it several friends said that it has been a slow trend over the years.
The parks make much of their budget from a fair like this. The admission is only two dollars, but the crowds are huge. Vendors pay rent for stalls and that brings in additional income.
Dancing with fans has been traditional since before the Tang dynasty. The girls are wearing several sweaters under their dresses, and one had on a down vest. It was very cold that day.
