Traditional Chinese Handicrafts

Palm leaves, grasses, and certain other leaves are used to make many different grass animals. The butterfly is very popular in this form. This woman did more elaborate designs requiring weaving tubes into shapes. Note the standing serpent and the lizard in the shade. Some of the larger figures go much faster because their feathers require little time, but great skill.
