A Qing dynasty sedan chair is heavy before you add a passenger. The weight is distributed both laterally and vertically. The lead man frequently turned around to walk backwards and chat with the guy behind him. Quite a trick. It isn't a very comfortable ride if you tend to get seasick. The little girl below is enjoying it for a short turn around the trees.
