Zhu Yunming
祝允明 (1460-1526)
Zhu Yunming was born in Wuxian, Jiangsu Province and was a member of the Wumen School in Suzhou. He is
particularly famous for his cursive or grass style of calligraphy. The influence can be seen in this example of
running script. These are a series of album leaves completed in 1494 when he was 35. Zhu Yunming was also
known by his designated name Xizhe
希哲 and by his literary name Zhishan 枝山.
