It is traditional Chinese courtesy to accompany travelers on part of their journey as a form of farewell.
Dai Jin is also known as Dai Wenjin
戴文进 , his designated name and by the literary names Jingan 静庵 and Yuquan Shanren 玉泉山人.
His style is similar to Ma Yuan 马元 and Xia Gui 夏圭 .

The painting dates from the Ming period.
