Ceremonial Jade Bi
变形蟠虺纹璧   礼器

This jade bi is engraved with an undulating coiled serpent around the edge and raised buttons in the center. The snake is called a (huǐ), a legendary venomous snake. It was a ceremonial object used during the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC - 24 AD). It was found at a site in Dongzhao, Huaxian County.
