Yu Yuan 豫园
Corridor for Approaching the Best Scenery

The Corridor for Approaching the Best Scenery (Jiàn Rù Jia Jìng) entices one with vase shaped gates framing successive views of scholar's rocks and artful greenery. The vase itself is a symbol of plenty in Chinese culture, much like the cornucopia in Western culture. The path winds so that each vase gives you a glimpse of the next, but teases you forward for a better view.
