  12. <p>Comparatives 比 with stative verbs and complements of</p>
  13. <p>degree</p>
  14. <p>比 bǐ to compare and 没有 méiyou not as...as are used with
  15. stative verbs to compare</p>
  16. <p>feelings and objects, while the „complement of degree‟
  17. construction is used when comparing</p>
  18. <p>two actions. We will be focusing on the following three
  19. sentence patterns in this section.</p>

  105. <p>extent of the action appears in “Action B”. Let‟s look at some
  106. more examples.</p>

  122. <p>The adverb 很 hěn very is not used in comparatives. If the
  123. expression “very much” is needed</p>
  124. <p>in a sentence, 多了 duōle much more can be added after the
  125. stative verb or any adverbs.</p>

  186. construction. The difference</p>
  187. <p>between 不比 bùbǐ sentences and 没有 méiyou sentences is that in a
  188. 不比 bùbǐ sentence the</p>
  189. <p>quality of the object that appears before 不比 bùbǐ is not
  190. better than that of the object that</p>
  191. <p>appears after 不比 bùbǐ, but could be of the same quality.
  192. However, in 没有 méiyou</p>
  193. <p>sentences the quality of the object that appears before 没有
  194. méiyou is always worse than that</p>
  195. <p>of the object that appears after 没有 méiyou.</p>
