- <p>"<span class="hanzi">不是⋯⋯, (而)是⋯⋯</span>" (<span class="pinyin">bùshì..., (ér)shì...</span>) is used to clarify something about a certain noun. What's being clarified can be noun phrases or verb phrases.</p>
