- <p>One of the most often confused words are <span class="hanzi">后来</span> (<span class="pinyin">hòulái</span>) and <span class="hanzi">然后</span> (<span class="pinyin">ránhòu</span>). They are similar on the surface, meaning something like "<b>and then</b>," but their usage is fairly different.</p>
