- <p>There are a number of different ways to express "<a href="only" class="uri" title="wikilink">only</a>" in Chinese, but 只 (zhǐ) is the most basic one you need to learn first. It's an <a href="adverb" class="uri" title="wikilink">adverb</a>, so it normally comes before <a href="verb" title="wikilink">verbs</a>.</p>
