    <para> Upon successful completion of this module you will be able to recognize, discriminate and
      produce the sounds of Chinese Mandarin and to write the <foreignphrase
        xml:lang="cmn-Latn-pinyin">hànyǔ pīnyīn</foreignphrase> romanization of any of its
      sounds.</para>
