Veteran of Anti-Japanese war

The Lugouqiao Incident
卢沟桥事变

I met this man who was visiting Lugou Qiao with his wife, daughter and some friends. He had been stationed in Beijing on July 7, 1937 and was sent to reinforce the troops at Wanping. They never made it that far, the Japanese advance met them before they could relieve Wanping. The fighting was fierce, but the odds were overwhelming. The Chinese fell back and moved south.
