Beijing Zoo 北京动物园
Kangaroo
袋鼠

The kangaroo, 袋鼠 (dàishǔ), is a herbivore; it only eats grass and leaves. At the zoo, it is fed regularly and has little need to graze. The size of the pasture to support a small troop would be prohibitive. Kangaroos travel widely to prevent over-grazing in the wild. They live from 4 to 6 years and a little longer in a zoo.
