| The banded mongoose 非洲獴 (Fēizhōuměng) is fairly common in central and eastern Africa. Its Chinese name means African mongoose. On hot days, such as the 95 degree weather of this day in Beijing, the mongoose is only active in the early morning and late evening. They live on plains and thrive in agricultural areas. |
