Tang Shunzi
唐顺之 (1507-1560)
Cursive script
The poetry of Du Fu and others is a frequent topic of calligraphy. The calligrapher interprets and
enhances the message or meaning of the poem through presentation. Poems were a frequent gift
between friends. Du Fu (712-770) and Li Bai, both of whom lived during the Tang Dynasty, are
considered the greatest of the Chinese poets.
