Jiangnan 江南 - West of Shanghai, near Suzhou

Fishermen work during the early morning hours. They diversify by raising another crop such as geese, working in a village factory or store, or by working part-time on farms during the planting and harvest seasons.

Geese are an excellent poultry crop. They primarily eat grass, need very little grain, and their eggs are sought after in China. Geese can be supported on small irregular pieces of land in both small and large flocks.
