| The roof tops are used as backdrops for trees. Trees are carefully placed to both emphasize and relieve the geometry of the buildings. Bamboo, wisteria, plum trees, and magnolia are favorite trees because of their color, texture, and in some cases, seasonal flowers. There are many old trees in the garden, there is a 400 year old gingko tree and a 300 year old wisteria. |
