The dress for men was distinct from that of women. Again, sculptures often show the skirts of upper-class men's suits dragging on the ground. This is a sign of status in that they would seldom have to step in dirt and clearly shows thay are not dressed for work. Fabrics and the clothing industry both expanded and diversified. Color dying and textures in silks and wools were expecially sophisticated. |
