Chinese Numbers

Counting and Multiplication

Learn to count to 100 in Chinese with Flash Movies. Then try counting to quadrillion. It's easier than you think! Multiplication tables will help you learn the associations between the numbers. The Flash Movies let you hear the sound before you see the number. That's important. Reading is so automatic that when you see numbers, you say them in your own language automatically. In the Flash Movies, the sound should be in your head when your eyes see the number. Try to say the numbers along with the speaker. It will help you with your general pronunciation as well as give you a useful skill. You can practice the numbers by going to the Speed Number Game -- it will present a random number as soon as you click START. Say the number as fast as you can and then click for the next. The timer will give you an idea of whether you really know the numbers. Try NOT to translate. 55 should BE wu3shi2wu3.
