It is 70 centimeters square. Each wing is decorated with five bats surrounding the symbol for longevity. When you say five bats in Chinese (wu fu 五蝠) it sounds like wishing someone good fortune and longevity (wu fu bai shou 五福拜寿). A bat is a symbol of happiness and good fortune, but five bats carry stonger meaning because each bat carries a good wish: longevity, health, wealth, love, and virtue or purity. There are also five bats at the girdle and an additional four orange bats perched on the wings. The central motif is bamboo, another symbol of longevity because it lives so long and is resilient.</font></td>
