							<td><font size="-1" color="white" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The Qin Dynasty was responsible for many great works beyond the mausoleum complex. Having suffered attacks from the Xiongnu and other tribes to the west and north of Qin, one task that the new emperor undertook was to join sections of walls that had been built both by the Qin and other States and cities to form the basis of the Great Wall. The enterprise was an enormous task that required that both workers and the military move to the locations for many years. The Wall was not the Wall that you see in pictures today. Much of the Great Wall was redone during the Ming Dynasty wth elaborate facings and towers to guard against invasion from the Mongols and Manchu. The Great Wall built during the Qin Dynasty was of rammed earth, boulders, and granite, depending on the area and what was available.</font></td>
