- Xian Yushu was a native of Beijing. He was known both by his designated name Boji</font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> 伯机</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> and his literary <br>
- name, Kunxue Shanmin </font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">困学山民</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> . He provided leadership along with Zhao Mengfu toward creating<br>
- innovative interpretations of the ancient styles. During the Yuan Dynasty the regular and cursive styles<br>
- became more sophisticated and advanced.<br>
