  30. Cursive script<br>
  31. Tang Shunzhi was born in Changzhou, Jiangzu Province. His designated name is Yingde </font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">应德</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> and<br>
  32. his literary name is Jingchuan </font><font size="-0" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">荆川</font><font size="-1" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">. This is an example of cursive script. The strokes are combined<br>
  33. by keeping the brush on the paper. In some cases a stroke is only indicated by a lengthening<br>
  34. of the line. Cursive and wild cursive, often called &quot;grass&quot; allow great emotional content, not<br>
  35. only by the form of the character but by its position and strength. Tang Shunzhi wrote this poem<br>
  36. for his younger brother in 1554 when he was 48.<br>
