- <p><font size="-1" color="white" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">The ecliptic armilla was the traditional European device while the Chinese developed the equatorial armilla and used it as the basis for celestial spheres and armillary clocks. The equatorial armilla built by Vebiest can be seen on the next page.</font></p>
