  1. Gardens Point Modula - IBM PC & compatibles version of 15 July 1994
  2. -------------------------------------------------------------------
  3. The PC version of the Gardens Point Modula compiler (gpm) is comprised of the
  4. following files.
  5. Copy the following files to your floppy disk:
  6. GPMPCxxx.zip <- main distribution file
  7. install.com <- installation program files
  8. ~~~~~.com
  9. ~~~~.com
  10. ~~~.com
  11. unzip.exe <- unarchiving utility
  12. Running install from the floppy disk will install GPM onto your hard disk.
  13. Install will create a sub directory on the hard disk nominated and copy the
  14. relevant files. Install will also update your autoexec.bat file to include
  15. some environment variables used by GPM.
  16. This package uses the MS-DOS editor EDIT as the default editor. NOTE: This
  17. editor comes standard with all versions of DOS from 5.0 onwards. To use other
  18. editors (PC-Write, QEdit) see either the notes in the file README.TOO or
  19. consult the GPM documentation.
  20. Please report bugs via the GPM bug report forms (available from the labs)
  21. or mail.
  22. sinfield@fit.qut.edu.au
  23. or hynd@fit.qut.edu.au
  24. Changes since version of September 94
  25. -------------------------------------
  26. 1) Full implementation of ISO Input/Output procedures.
  27. (See separate documents - usingiso.stu <- introduction to using ISO I/O
  28. wirthiso <- converting InOut etc. to ISO)
  29. 2) Implementation of some basic cursor manipulations (Use in conjunction with
  30. ANSISYS) - allows cursor to be hidden and restored, resized and gets the
  31. screen current attributes at the cursor.
  32. Changes since version of June 95
  33. ---------------------------------
  34. 1) A number of inconsistent results have been fixed in RealIO
  35. 2) The utility module DebugWrite has been added to the distribution - See
  36. the .def file for details.
  37. Changes since version of July 95
  38. ---------------------------------
  39. 1) A minor bug fix in the run time system.
  40. 2) Fixed a bug in ProgArgs, which sometimes truncated user's arguments
  41. 3) Separation of the graphics libraries from the normal distribution.
  42. When the graphics libraries were produced in late 1992, attempts were made
  43. to try and include data about as many known SVGA video cards as possible.
  44. Since then a lot more cards (VESA etc) have become available, with differing
  45. setups and initialisations. The SVGA autodetect facility can't always
  46. correctly set up the card if it is not known to to the libraries. Hence
  47. some users have experienced problems. Beginning with this distribution,
  48. the graphics libraries will be packaged as a VGA and SVGA version
  49. (gr_svga.zip and gr_vga.zip). The contents of these two zips are the
  50. necessary files in m2sym and m2lib directories. Just uncompress the version
  51. require using => unzip gr_svga
  52. or unzip gr_vga.
  53. Changes since version of August 95
  54. ----------------------------------
  55. 1) An error in compiling the ISO libraries could lead to a linker failure,
  56. with an apparent double inclusion of StdDevice.
  57. Changes since version of November 95
  58. ------------------------------------
  59. 1) An minor bug fix to StdStrings
  60. 2) Fix to a build problem (inconsistent keys) with the graphics support
  61. libraries. PLEASE NOTE : The graphics libraries come in an SVGA and VGA
  62. versions (see above). As the .def and .syx files are identical for both
  63. they are now include in ..\m2sym. In ..\m2lib are two directories ..\vga
  64. and ..\svga. Copy the files from the sub-directory for the adapter you want.
