  3. Exercise 2
  4. This exercise is a review of the Reference List sentences in this
  5. unit. The speaker will say a sentence in English, followed, by a pause
  6. for you to translate it into Chinese. Then a second speaker will confirm
  7. your answer.
  8. All sentences from the Reference List will occur only once. You may
  9. want to rewind the tape and practice this exercise several times.
  10. In this exercise a mother and son talk in their apartment in Hangzhou.
  11. The conversation occurs only once. After listening to it completely,
  12. you’ll probably want to rewind the tape and answer the questions below
  13. as you listen a second time.

  38. Listen to the conversation once straight through. Then, on the second
